For
various reasons, this show was moved from its
normal June slot, to
early August, and this proved to be a good choice
as not only did the sun shine
(unusual for West Grinstead), but the crowds flocked
in.
The Woodlanders were sited on the old railway
line itself, and there was plenty of room for
Brian and Chris to display their collection of
tools including cross-cut saws, an old scythe,
slashers and many more implements which drew a
lot of interest. Brian was busy making bread slice
feeders and could just about keep up with demand
as we sold them as fast as he could make them!
Then, both Chris and Brian were drafted into action
to make 20 stakes for someone to pin back their
hedge with. Chris also managed to make a large
wooden snail and start experimenting with using
ash timber for making gates and fencing.
