In order to give
you the perfect excuse this year to get into
the wood and enjoy it in all its seasons,
we are organising a photographic competition.
The entrance criteria are simple:
-
The photographs must be taken in Tottington
Wood
-
You do not have to be a member of the
Woodlanders
-
Age categories are 0-16 [Juniors] and 16+ [Seniors]
-
You can submit up to 4 of your best images
depicting the seasons in the wood.
-
No digital doctoring
-
The photograph(s) may have been taken
at any time - not necessarily this year
-
The images can be submitted as slide,
print or electronic file
-
Any subject and style are acceptable
e.g. wildlife: plants,
insects, mammals, fish, birds etc.; woodland
activities: coppicing, ditch-digging,
charcoal burning, walking, wassailing
etc.; abstract textures/colours:
tree bark, leaves, water etc. Creativity
encouraged! (Depending on the
number and diversity of entries, photographs
will be judged under various subject categories).
-
You can't be one of the judges. (You
know who you are!)
Finally, although you don't need to be
reminded, please do not harm the wood in
the process!
You can obtain the postal address to mail
entries to by contacting Ian Betts on the
Contact
Us page. You can also send Ian an attached
image file by email. Dont forget to give us
your name and age category.
Entries will be displayed on this site in
a 'Woodland
Gallery' and the winners will be announced
at next year's AGM in May. If we receive sufficient
entries, a calendar will be made to raise
funds for the wood.
Please feel encouraged to get snapping and
submitting the results right away!
We look forward to seeing what you can discover! |
