Thankyou to our volunteers from the Chairman

As the dedicated band of volunteers stood around the fire eating their jacket potatoes on the last work day ,there was a mixture of sadness and relief at the end of the coppicing season for 2012/2013.

Everyone agreed that they will miss the camaraderie and banter every Sunday during the winter work programme but they will not miss the cold and mud.

This season will remembered for the amount of rain and snow which has made the conditions real hard work.  It is a testament to the hard work of the dedicated volunteers and Durrington Sea scouts that in a season which had been punctuated by days off due to the weather that so much coppicing has been done and product sorted tied up and ready for sale.

A huge thankyou to all the volunteers who turned out during the season to lend a hand, and especially those who came in the last two weeks of the season in really horrible weather to ensure that the work was completed.
