Our first book: The Flora of Tottington Wood

We are rather proud of this one: at our Annual General Meeting we launched our first book, The Flora of Tottington Wood.
It is a 66-page, professionally bound paperback with a wipe-clean cover, recording the plants our surveys have found in the wood over the years. Each entry gives habitat, height and flowering season, illustrated with original colour photographs taken here.
The book pays special attention to Ancient Woodland Indicator species. These are plants that do not propagate and spread readily, so where they are present, a site has almost certainly been woodland for a very long time. Tottington Wood is designated Semi-Natural Ancient Woodland, and its flora shows why.
Copies are £5 and available through our shop. It would, we might add, make a fabulous present.
